NATO Parliamentary Assembly – Spring Session, Luxembourg, 19-22 May 2023
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly concluded its Spring Session held in Luxembourg from 19 to 22 May 2023, gathering almost 250 lawmakers from the 31-nation NATO Alliance and 16 partner countries and parliamentary bodies. ATA Vice President and EATA Secretary General Krista Mulenok and LATO Secretary General Sigita Struberga took part as observers.
The Session focused on the Assembly’s unwavering support for Ukraine and NATO’s adaptation, grounded in democratic values, to the new strategic reality in the wake of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Two declarations were adopted during the Plenary Session, expressing the Assembly’s recommendations for the NATO summit in Vilnius July 11-12.
The meetings demonstrated the NATO PA’s firm rejection of Russia’s unprovoked, unjustified, brutal and illegal war and its resolute defence of Ukraine’s democracy, independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
