Kate Hansen Bundt has been Secretary General of the Norwegian Atlantic Committee since 2010. Bundt is a political scientist (Cand.polit) from the University of Oslo and foreign policy analyst with particular interest in German, European and transatlantic security and strategy. She is a board member of the Norwegian Centre for Conflict Resolution (NOREF) and the Fridtjof Nansen Institute (FNI) in Oslo. Prior to her current position, she worked at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) from 1990-1993, where she was Chair of the Board from 2014-2021. She was Research Director at the Oslo-based think tank “Europa-programmet” from 1993-2006 and worked as an independent commentator of European and German affairs from 2006-09. In 2009, she graduated from the executive course at the Norwegian Defence University College, where she still lectures. Bundt has been a member of several Government appointed expert committees on security, defence and EU-issues and is frequently invited by the media to comment on developments in Germany, NATO, and the EU. In 2018, she was awarded the Willy Brandt Prize for her long and outstanding efforts for Norwegian-German relations.
