Mr. Antonio Borges De Carvalho

António Borges de Carvalho has been a prominent figure in Portuguese business and politics since the 1960s. Born in 1941, he studied Law from 1958 to 1962 before serving as a Lieutenant in the Portuguese Army from 1963 to 1967, including active duty in the Angola war from 1964 to 1967. Carvalho's political career peaked as a Member of Parliament from 1979 to 1987, during which he presided over several key committees including Constitutional, Foreign Affairs, and Defense. In the business world, he held executive positions across various sectors such as industry, agriculture, construction, and finance. Notably, he served as Vice President of the Portuguese Atlantic Committee (CPA) from 1976 to 2002, and in leadership roles at Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA), including Treasurer (1996-1999) and Secretary General (1999-2002). Carvalho is also an accomplished author, having published four books and contributed numerous articles to the press.
